Joy Dee (Yeadon) Baker, age 51, of Indianapolis, Indiana entered this life on April 26, 1968 in Bellflower, California to Loren Yeadon and Barbara Swinney Stober. She was a 1987 graduate from Mariner High School in Everett, Washington. She worked as a deli clerk at Haggen Supermarket in Stanwood, Washington for nearly 11 years and then moved to Indiana and became a bank teller at Chase Bank for 9 years. She also worked as a clerk at K Mart Deli, and at MCL Cafeteria as a server. Joy was united in marriage on June 24, 2000 to Matthew Thorn Baker in Glenbrook, Nevada. She took pride in feeding the wild life in her back yard and spending time with her four cats; Patches, Silver, Bobby, and Angel. Joy died at 5:12 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at her residence. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her loving husband of 19 years, Matthew Thorn Baker of Indianapolis, Indiana Joy is survived by mother, Barbara Swinney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and sister, Jackie Evans of Marysville, Washington.
Joy is preceded in death by her father, Loren Yeadon.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 North Girls School Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46214. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. also at Chapel Rock Christian Church with Pastor Fred Rodkey officiating. Burial will take place in Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road, Madison, Indiana 47250. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to Chapel Rock Christian Church. Please share memories and condolences online at www.indianafuneralcare.com. My wonderful Sister, Joy….. She was one of the greatest gifts to my life. Our Sisterhood we shared.
